wheelie bins

Collections of our blue and brown wheelie bins continue fortnightly.
 
Brown Bin
Please do not use plastic bags or bin liners to contain garden waste.
Acceptable
Bark and leaves, small branches, lawn mowings, cut flowers, plants and twigs, windfalls and hedge clippings.
Not acceptable
Cardboard, shredded paper, any plastic, soil, stone, rubble or turf.  Any household waste, animal waste or any food waste.
 
Blue Bin
Inner Caddy
Newspapers, magazines, brochures, catalogues, junk mail, yelow pages, shredded paper.
 
In the Bin
Cardboard, glass bottle and jars, food and drink cans - aluminium and steel, plastic milk bottles and soft drink bottles.  Plastic household cleaning fluid bottles eg washing up, shampoo, conditioner, bleach etc. Plastic household food containers eg yoghourt pots, margarine tubs, strawberry punnetts etc.
All items must be clean, empty and have the tops removed.
 
Unacceptable
Tissue paper, jiffy bags, wallpaper, cling film, plastic carrier bags, engine oil bottle, polysytrene, foil food trays, pyrex and aerosol cans.
 
The nearest recycling centre is at Beacon Road/ Opal Way, Stone Business Park, ST15 0NN.

Bank Holidays

Open from 9am to 5pm on bank holidays.
Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Bank Holiday Arrangements
All fourteen recycling centres are open on both Monday and Tuesday during Spring and Summer Bank Holidays.
