After meetings held with residents and visits to Yarnfield, representatives from Stafford and Rural Homes are more aware of local issues and are striving to improve the situation.
Stafford and Rural Homes' Responses to issues
External paintwork - Stafford and Rural Homes did not have an external painter. This job went out to tender in November with a view to the external painting programme starting in summer 2009. This will include garages, wooden fascias, the pebble dashing on the flats in Greenside etc. As the external painting has been somewhat neglected it may take some time after this date for the painter to get around to Yarnfield. Once the contractor has been procured however, we can make a case for your area being looked at sooner rather than later.
Caretaker - Keith, the eatate caretaker, will be doing some work in Yarnfield(he has a huge area to cover and can only spend some of his time here.) He will initially concentrate on clearing the nettles and overgrown shrubs and other tidying.
Damp - possible damp, problems with guttering and canopies and coping stones on the walls at the back of the Furlong have been reported to the repairs team and will be inspected.
Communal landing windows on Greenside - these will be replaced as required through the repairs system if not picked up on the next major improvements in Yarnfield. As they are not individual dwelling windows they will not be a priority as they are not covered by the Decent Homes requirement for 2010.
Lighting - some areas will be inspected with regard to improving lighting. All potentially affected residents will be consulted before any decisions are made.
Footpaths - some work has been done to improve footpaths. Other paths have been inspected.
Forum Meetings
Do come along to our meetings; we are trying to improve the living conditions for everyone in the village. We are trying to work with SRH to improve living conditions but SRH need to see that its tenants and private property owners on their estate are taking part at Yarnfield Forum meetings.
IN THIS WAY YOU WILL HELP US, TO HELP YOU.
